Interaction of Zitrocin:
Between the intake of Zitrocin and antacid preparations, a minimum of 2-hour break is recommended.
Unlike most macrolide antibiotics, azithromycin does not bind to the enzymes of the cytochrome P450 complex, therefore it practically does not interact with digoxin, ergotamine, cyclosporine, carbamazepine, theophylline and other xanthine derivatives, phenytoin, triazolam or oral anticoagulants. Tetracyclines and chloramphenicol increase the effect of azithromycin, and the lincosamides are reduced.
Symptoms: temporary loss of hearing, weakness, severe nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
Treatment: gastric lavage - if necessary, administration of activated carbon, restoration of water-electrolyte balance, elimination of gastrointestinal tract irritation, hemosorption.
